Board of Directors
Sir David Richards

Sir David Richards was appointed as Chairman of the Premier League in 1999, a position in which he still resides. He is a Member of the Football Association (FA) Main Board and also Vice Chairman of The FA. Other appointments include Chairman of the Professional Game Board and Chairman of The FA International Committee. He is a Member of the UEFA Strategy board and the International Board of FIFA.

Geoff Rothschild
Geoff Rothschild

Geoff Rothschild is an immediate past Chairman of the JSE and was a member of the board from 1991 - 2008.   Geoff currently holds the position of Director: Government and International Affairs promoting the JSE. He is a Director of the NEPAD Business Foundation and Nurturing Orphans of Aids for Humanity.   He is a Council Member of the National Advisory Council for Innovation (NACI), serves on sub-committees with the Council for Higher Education and Innovation for Development and an Honorary Fellow of the Da Vinci Institute of Technology and is a Patron of Education Africa.

Sam Ramsamy
Sam Ramsamy

Sam Ramsamy is an educator, activist and sports administrator. He led the first non-racial South African team to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Ramsamy is a member of the International Olympic Committee and sits on their Commission evaluating the bids for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Imtiaz Patel
Imtiaz Patel

Imtiaz Patel served on the boards of Natal Sharks, Free State Rugby and Griqualand West Rugby, as well as Centurion Park Investments, Dolphins and Western Province Cricket. He is chief executive officer of SuperSport United Football Club and a member of the Premier Soccer League board. He is also secretary of the National Transformation Monitoring Committee of the United Cricket Board. In March 2005 he was appointed CEO of SuperSport South Africa.

Niall Carroll
Niall Carroll

Niall Carroll was director of Ivor Jones Roy from 1994 – 1995, Director of Deutsche Securities from 1996 – 1998 and Managing Director of Deutsche Bank in Johannesburg 1999 – 2004. He was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Bafokeng Holdings in 2004.

 

Dr. Theuns Eloff
Dr. Theuns Eloff

Dr. Theuns Eloff was Chair of the Reformed Movement of Southern Africa from 1984 – 1991 and appointed as Chairman of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, United Kingdom, from July 2009 – July 2011. He was Deputy Executive Director of the Transitional Executive Council in Pretoria and non-executive Director for Astral Foods in 2007. He was appointed as trustee of the FW De Klerk Foundation in 2008, and is currently Vice-Chancellor and CEO of North West University.

Michael Lutzeyer
Michael Lutzeyer

Michael Lutzeyer is the owner and Managing Director of the 5* Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, and Director of the Grootbos Foundation. He also serves on the board of South African Tourism 2006 – 2012.

Thabo Mokgatlha
Thabo Mokgatlha

Thabo is a non-executive Director of Royal Bafokeng Holdings; he is a Chartered Accountant, having completed his articles with Coopers & Lybrand. He previously lectured at the University of the North West. Thabo is the Excecutive: Treasury and Business for the RBN.

Leán Terblanche
Leán Terblanche

Leán Terblanche has been leading the Football Foundation’s operations since it’s inception in January 2008. She majored in Psychology, History and English, and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing at the University of Stellenbosch. She played squash for SA Schools, netball and tennis for South Western Districts, and is also a keen cyclist. Leán has a passion for youth development and hopes to change the world, one child at a time.

Sicelo Heukile
Sicelo Heukile

Sicelo Heukile joined the Foundation in June 2008 as coach. Originally from the Eastern Cape, Sicelo matriculated at Mzokhanyo High School in East London. Sicelo coached Border u/13 and u/15 Boys teams; and Border Girls u/18 – forming the first Border Girls’ u/17 League in 2001. He has coached Aja FC, and received his level 6 SAFA Referees certificate in Johannesburg in 2001. Sicelo holds various coaching certificates amongst which are an FA level 1 coaching course obtained in Durban in 2009. He is passionate about football and is a firm favourite amongst the children.
