Foundation children celebrated Heritage Day as all South Africans did, by putting some meat on a grill and braai’ing on the beautiful spring day. Across race, language, region and religion, we all share one common heritage. It is called many things: Chisa Nyama, Braai and Ukosa to name a few. Although the ingredients may differ, the one thing that never changes is that when we have something to celebrate we light fires, and prepare great feasts. The Foundation embraces the concept of bringing people together through events like these because we are all part of a rich and shared heritage. Children played fun games with the coaches and challenged them to a soccer game, showing off the skills they have learnt during their training sessions. Afterwards they enjoyed delicious meat off the grill and celebrated Heritage Day – SA style.
